Why Coveo removes dashes in the fid

When I check the fid returned by Coveo REST API, it shows
"fid56456" : "f2df3b52e03c4fbdbb96bd8f2be382ab", The Sitecore item id is "f2df3b52-e03c-4fbd-bb96-bd8f2be382ab", Why are these dashes removed?

Hi,

Coveo removes the dashes from Guid fields because the value would be considered as multiple terms otherwise, like from spaces.

Is there any way to restore the original GUID in the REST API results?

You should take a look at this article: https://answers.coveo.com/questions/7271/indexing-guids

Create a computed index field storing the original value. See https://sitecorebrasil.wordpress.com/2016/10/13/how-to-index-guids-in-coveo-keeping-the-original-format-part-1/
