How to setup a mirror server for CES/REST API

We have setup CES and Search API, and connected to our Sitecore. Everything is fine. Now we have another stand alone server running as a mirror server to provide the REST API search. In case the main index server is down, the mirror server can still provide data.

Is there any instruction for setting this mirror server? Do we need to install CES/API on it?

Thanks.

You can find this guide for Coveo for Sitecore 3.0: https://developers.coveo.com/display/SupportKB/How+to+Load+Balance+Queries+using+CES+Mirror+and+Coveo+for+Sitecore

Things are a bit different for 4.0:

  • LINQ queries do not use port 52810 anymore. They are using the local Coveo REST endpoint proxy inside Sitecore.
  • Thus, Coveo for Sitecore do not connect directly with CES on port 52810. However, the Coveo Search API still do.
