How to apply a filter/boost that works across all tabs?

New Coveo user here!

Via the image below, is there a reason why a filter/boost applied in the Custom Coveo Search View doesn't filter down to all 3 tabs? For some reason, it's only being applied to the first tab.

Do I really need to duplicate the filter/boost on each tab even though it's the same?

Hi @jsleik and welcome!

No, the filtering and boosting on the main Search View should be applied to all the tabs.

Have you checked if there are any custom rules defined in those tabs that would override the filters from the Search View?

The example I was working with involved boosting products by a certain manufacturer in the main search view. There were no other boosts present in the tabs.

And as far as the tabs go, the first tab shows all results, second tab just products and third tab literature and other content. And for some reason, the correct products boosted in the first tab, but no change in the second.

Alright, so I went back to the drawing board and re-designed how the filters were organized and applied. It seems to have solved the issue. One of the rules must have been playing havoc with what I was trying to do.

Appreciate your help. It's great having a supportive community like this that I can reach out to.
