Sitecore Field Name of "name" doesn't get indexed

If I have a sitecore template with a field called "name", the field does not get indexed. I have checked that it is not in the excluded fields list. This is a custom field, not related to the item name or display name fields.

Hi,

What is the type of this field? There's a 'name' field that is ootb with the string type, there could be a clash.

The Sitecore field type is single line text which would be a string. I did notice one name field defined by default in Coveo.SearchProvider.config as follows, is that what could be conflicting and if so can it be safely removed?

  <fieldType fieldName='name' isFacet="true" isSortable="true" includeForFreeTextSearch="true" isMultiValue="false" settingType='Coveo.Framework.Configuration.FieldConfiguration, Coveo.Framework' />

You need to let that line there, it make sure the name field is facettable and sortable, which is important for the Content Editor for instance.

Do you have any errors in your Sitecore logs while indexing? Maybe it's not getting indexed..

I don't see any errors related to this. I tried changing the field name to something else and the field still does not index. There are no settings on this field that are different from any other field. Any idea what could cause one field not to index when every other field in the template does get indexed?
