Top Results - is there a query/format that works with Sitecore to accept any version in the web database?

Hi there,

When you create a Top Result via the Add Top Result action in the Index Browser, you get following URI for the Address:

This works great until a new version of that page is published (and only version 2 resides in the web database), at which time the top result no longer works. Is there a different query/syntax we can use to not care about the version since the web database only contains a single version?

Thanks in advance. Mike

Unfortunately, there's no workaround for the moment. We're currently evaluating solutions to manage the top results from Sitecore. Except the item version, would you like to have any other feature in the solution? Your feedback would help us to shape the final solution.

Thanks for reply.

I believe it has already been posted in another thread, but it would be nice if the author could manage a simple list of items in Sitecore, where they list the keywords, along with the top result item(s) from the content tree and the top results should work in all databases (master, web, and any other publishing targets).

As JF said, top results are indeed not fully supported in Sitecore. If you are using Coveo for Sitecore, I would propose to use Boosting:

For all other integrations, you could also use QRE:

Thanks for the reply Simon. We may end up leveraging the boosting option to elevate the relevancy of certain items.
