RabbitMQ credential setting for individuals in a dev environment.

Hello

I am wondering what steps are involved in setting or resetting the credentials for the Indexing Queue Connection, and associated RabbitMQ service. We have multiple developers, and would like to shared one set of configuration files, including the config.yml.

Currently, we only work when each user defines their username/password to agree with what was setup during the original install.

Is this possible to do?

Thanks!

Hi,

You can manage the RabbitMQ users with the RabbitMQ Management tool (http://localhost:15672). When the users are set, you can go in Sitecore and use the RabbitMQ configuration panel to update the credentials accordingly (Control Panel > Coveo Search > Configuration > Indexing Queue Connection).

If you are dealing with multiple Sitecore front-ends (CMs / CDs), you must make sure that the Coveo.SearchProvider.config file is updated on all front-ends.

I hope this helps

The "Indexing Queue Connection" wizard only updates the Sitecore instance's Coveo.SearchProvider.config[.example] file with the provided credentials. It doesn't change anything in the RabbitMQ service.

Is it answering your question?

Not completely. So, I know that the wizard updates that one config file (Coveo.SearchProvider.config). However, if, when we installed things originally, we used different usernames/pwds for the service….how can we change those so that we can actually share our config files.

For example, if some followed the default install, (where user=guest, pwd=guest) and others did not (user=myadmin and pwd=mypwd), how can this be changed after the initial install?

Thanks!
