Sitecore and full page indexing

Suppose we have a FAQ list which is indexed using the full page indexing. Now one of the items in this list is changed (description or title). How are we picking this up?

If the Sitecore item that generates the list of FAQ items is linked to the modified FAQ item within Sitecore, you can configure Coveo for Sitecore to index the related items when an item is indexed with a processor in the coveoItemProcessingPipeline pipeline (see "Adding a processor to coveoItemProcessingPipeline" in Understanding the Indexing and Search Pipelines).

In understand that we write the logic for finding related items ourselves, but has Coveo build-in support for items that are linked through a Sitecore Datasource? So if I edit a data item, all page items that use this data item as a datasource in a rendering should be added to the re-index list. That would already cover a lot of standard situations…

If you set the <IndexReferrerItemsOnUpdate> element value to true in the Coveo.SearchProvider.config file, Coveo for Sitecore will automatically re-index items that references the indexed items. The list of items to re-index is provided by the Sitecore LinkDatabase.
