Moving Breadcrumbs Component On Page

What is the best way to move the breadcrumbs component to a different area of the page and maintain their functionality?

Currently, I am experimenting with a jQuery script like this:

$('#search').on('populateBreadcrumb', function(e, args){
                    for(var i=0;i<args.breadcrumbs.length;i++)
                        var html = $(args.breadcrumbs[i].element).html();

with a mixture of this: $( ".container" ).append( html );

Is this on the right track?

I think you are over-engineering the solution here.

You can simply move the breadcrumb HTML element in your source code to another location. All the JavaScript Search Framework components can be placed anywhere you want in your HTML layout.
