open embedded link from quick view in a new search page

Not all our internal users have a SF login and when an embedded link is clicked in the quick view, the article opens in SF and prompts for login credentials. This prevents many uses from being able to see linked articles to resolve their issue. Is there a way to update or change the link behavior to have it open a new tab/window and query for that specific article using our internal site?

For example, I click article 1234 from internal search, the quick view opens, I then click the embedded link to article 7891, and a new tab/window opens with the search for Article number 7891.

Obvious question, but it isn't possible to change the links embedded in the articles so that they use urls in "external" form?

Thanks for your response. If we change the URL defined on the SFDC article to a static URL, we can't control the differing view between internal (displays additional information for analysts) and external view (limited info available to customers) without having two versions of the same article, which we would like to avoid.

Is there a way to update the URL during indexing to point to an "external" form that is only available internally?

You could do that maybe using conversion scripts, right…
