Could not find property 'defaultIndexConfiguration' on object type: Sitecore.ContentSearch.ContentSearchConfiguration

Hi,

We recently did a test move to SC8.1 U3 and Coveo for SC June(2016). From our original SC7.0U4 and CFS Aug(2015). But as soon as we included our 'external include' config that had our custom computed fields, it started complaining about this error (title).

This is how our external config looks like.

<contentSearch>
  <configuration>
      <defaultIndexConfiguration>
        <fieldMap>
          <fieldNames hint="raw:AddFieldByFieldName">

I tried adding 'coveo' node rigth after the element but it complained about the 'coveo' node as well.

Another thing to note is that the default Lucene indices are active as well.

Thanks, Dean

Hi,

Have you followed all the upgrade steps from September 2015 to June 2015 release of Coveo for Sitecore (Upgrade steps)?

You probably missed the October to December upgrade steps which talk about the change of defaultIndexConfiguration location (Oct to Dec 2015).

Btw Jeff, I have a follow up on this one. Now I don't get the errors anymore, but for some reason, Coveo is not picking up my Computed fields, it seems it's just ignoring them. I have the custom include file as below:

<contentSearch>
  <coveo>
      <defaultIndexConfiguration type="Coveo.Framework.Configuration.CoveoIndexConfiguration, Coveo.Framework">
        <fieldMap>
          <fieldNames hint="raw:AddFieldByFieldName">

            <fieldType fieldName="Page Title" isFacet="true" isSortable="true" includeForFreeTextSearch="true" isMultiValue="false" settingType="Coveo.Framework.Configuration.FieldConfiguration, Coveo.Framework" />

I see it as well in the showconfig, I don't see any errors in the logs.

Thoughts?

Thanks a lot Dean

As @dberube said, you need to follow the upgrade documentation with precision. The <coveo> element should be under <sitecore>, not under <contentSearch>.
