Enable coveo on-prem analytics for Sitecore

Hi

Im using CES 7.0 with Coveo for Sitecore 8.0 3.0 (1123). I'm trying to enable coveo analytics so I setup a sql DB using this guide. I then added the analytics configuration to the config file located at \Coveo Enterprise Search 7\Web\Admin\Web.config. I then ran a few search queries from sitecore and I was expecting the data to be populated in the analytics db but it's not. I even went back to sitecore and checked the "Enable Coveo Analytics" checkbox, but still no luck.

Any suggestions on how to enable on-prem analytics for sitecore searches?

Thanks

Hi,

With Coveo for Sitecore, you need to follow this guide to enable the Coveo Analytics.

Go to https://cloudplatform.coveo.com, login with your credentials and click on Visit Browser.

Hi aga,

First, the on-prem analytics you are referring to is used by the Coveo .NET Front-End (aka .NET UI). Coveo for Sitecore rather uses the JS UI which does not support logging analytics events in an on-prem database.

Second, the web.config file that you modified is the one of the Coveo Admin Tool. One more reason for the changes to not be taken into account.

Hope this clarifies.

Thank you for the good question. I admit that it may be confusing. It's because it has already been possible to integrate the .NET search UI to Sitecore. In such a setup, the .NET UI integrated to Sitecore may indeed log UA events to an on-prem database. But the recent versions of Coveo for Sitecore no longer use the .NET UI. I will notify the documentation team to clarify the online help page.
