Coveo for salesforce - on Search results page/component - search term change still includes original term in Salesforce searchbox

When a user searches from our home page (or any other page using the Salesforce search box) - on the results oage, if they enter a further term in to the Coveo box - the one in the Salesforce box doesn't clear and the Coveo search uses both terms in the search. Is there a way that you guys know of, to clear the original search term and only search on the new term?

(I hope that makes sense)

we would need further details related to your component configuration., can let us know what attributes are set to true/false, you can check from the commmunity builder when you click on the component (assuming this is in lightning communities)

You will want to uncheck auto inject basic query from the options, as per the searchbox you can easily swap by accessing the theme layout component options:

and change to "Searchbox"

Thanks @gminero - here's the same screenshot taken for the coveo component on our Search results page.

In terms of the search box itself - I didn't realise there was the option to use a Coveo option here. Where do I get that from?

thanks - again - @gminero -you're really knocking out of the park for me this week! I really appreciate it!

Re: the Coveo searchbox - does anything different to the Saelsforce one? We've just been through a redesign and spent time styling the SF one, but if it would be beneficial then we may look at switching in our next phase!
