Generic REST API Source - Add Token To Header

For the particular API I'm working with, I need first authenticate with it to get an authentication token and then that authentication token needs to be added to the header of each subsequent request to the API.

Is there a way to accomplish that with the out of the box rest connector? I didn't see one.

Would it be easier to create my own custom API that essentially wraps the third party one? That way Coveo could call my API and I do the work of calling the third party API behind the scenes?

Unfortunately, the Coveo Generic REST API connector does not support that authentication type.

I recommend you create a proxy API to handle authentication yourself.
