If I understand your question, you want to change the content crawled by the Coveo indexes?

If so, yes, you can change it directly from the `Coveo.SearchProvider.Custom.config`, or you can create another file and change it there.

The important thing to know is that those files work just like any other Sitecore configuration files, so the order of the files is important, as they are loaded alphabetically. Ensure that your new file will be loaded after `Coveo.SearchProvider.config`. You could also create a new `CoveoCustom` folder that contains all of your customizations.

OOTB, this custom file does not contain the required change to patch the index. You can copy this part from the `Coveo.SearchProvider.config` in your patch file and adjust the required node.

Open your ShowConfig using (`YOUR_INSTANCE/sitecore/admin/showconfig.aspx`) to ensure that the nodes are properly merged and that your patch is properly applied.

Hope this helps!
