Separate multi-value field values with commas

We're indexing a number of sites that were originally supported by GSA. They have meta data fields with multiple values that are separated by commas. I know that, by, default, Coveo requires semi-colons to separate multiple values. My question is how could we index these fields as is, using the comma as a separator? Can a custom extension be created to do this?

Thanks,

Thom

I think you are on the right path with Coveo Cloud Indexing Extensions. You can write extensions that will convert the comma separated metadata values to semi-colon separated metadata values. Configure those scripts to be executed post-conversion.

I had the same problem with a database connector. The data field was stored comma delimited. Modified the query in the xml configuration to do a replace() with semicolon.
