Web Connector - Querying Index

We're working with Coveo for Sitecore on Sitecore 7.1. We currently have a web connector configured to crawl one of our sites, which seems to be working as intended.

We're now looking to implement a search that queries this index for relevant pages based on the search term. However, we're having a hard time finding documentation or examples on querying the web connector index. Is there a recommended approach to retrieving results from these types of indexes versus a standard Sitecore Queue index? Is there any documentation that explains this approach and any possible examples?

Hi,

Here is an example that explain how to use a web source in Coveo for Sitecore. https://developers.coveo.com/display/SC201505/Displaying+External+Content+in+a+Search+Interface

To query many sources using Coveo for Sitecore, you have to specify the "External Sources/Collections" you want to use. By default the search queries are scoped only to the source that corresponds to the current Sitecore database.

Also, make sure to add permissions to the Sitecore extranet\anonymous user on your web source, otherwise, those external search results won't show up when querying from Sitecore. You need to rebuild the source after adding such permission.

I hope this helps
