Cloud Sitemap Connector - URL Replacement

Has anyone used the URL Replacement feature of the Cloud Sitemap connector?

I am wondering if this would be a solution for our issue.

We need to index a site, but during indexing, change the server where the uri will point to.

Ex. A page is indexed at The link to the same page in search results needs to be:

Can we use the URL Replacement Feature to accomplish this task? If so, does anyone have an example of a pattern and replacement?

Thank you in advance!!

Hi Rich,

The Replacement Pattern is a REGEX to match a part of the URL to replace by the specified value (Replacement Value). If no Replacement Pattern is specified, but a Replacement Value is provided, the URL authority is replaced by the specified value.

If you use this feature, when a link is extracted from the sitemap file, the replacement is only applied when the connector tries to download and index the web page. It doesn't modify the final clickable URI in the search results. In short, it only modifies where the content is fetched by the connector.
