Unable to Install CES Silently using msiexec command
I am new to Coveo and was trying to do silent installation of CES using the below command:
msiexec /i "C:\[FilePath]\Coveo Enterprise Search 7.0 x64 (9167).msi" /qn ADDLOCAL=BaseFeature,VCRedist,CESService,Admin,AdminService,CESConsole LOGONTYPE=account LOGONACCOUNT_DOMAIN=[domain] LOGONACCOUNT_USERNAME=[username] LOGONACCOUNT_PASSWORD=[password]
I have followed all the steps mentioned in below link:
I have used 7z tool to archive the .exe file to get the .msi for CES and hvae tried both /quiet and /passive mode. In /passive mode I saw some progress on the model dialog box , but then nothing happened, there is no sign that the installation was ever attemped on the Server.
It is a window 2012 R2 Server hosted on Azure East US data center.
Have you tried running the exe? It contains a bootstrapper that will install prerequisites and elevate the process.
Otherwise, as the documentation says, you need to install all of the prerequisites yourself and make sure UAC is disabled. Please not that to disable UAC on Windows Server 2012 R2, you need to change a registry key and reboot, see https://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/13953.windows-server-2012-deactivating-uac.aspx. Doing it only in the UI or not rebooting will lead to incoherent behavior.
After an installation attempt, you can look at the MSI log file. Just add /L*V "C:\log\example.log" to your command. Feel free to post the log here so we can have a look.
