Coveo Search Interface with no Results and only Facets

Hi There!

We have a weird ask and I am sure with hive it could be doable. But, wanted to check in. So, can we actually add only Facets to a Sitecore template with out showing any results or what so ever?

Basically, a Coveo Search Interface that will fire a query with potential filters/scope etc., and Facets that show up for that query, but, we do not care to show actual results(result list) to the right.

Wondering if it is a safe assumption that it is possible.

It is possible, but each click will still trigger a query which will count towards your monthly queries count. Include a Search Interface component, but don't put any Result List component :).

Here is an alternative: You could instead leverage the listFieldValues call that allows you get the same output as you would for a single facet. It is not quite as easy as using the existing Coveo Facet component, but if you want simple counts for a single field name, this could serve your purpose.

In other words, it really depends on what you want to achieve in the end.

Thanks @François Lachance-Guillemette that helps!

I personally never used end point for listFieldValues, but, you think it is possible to link each of this facet value (simple single field name + counts) to a specific search landing page with facet value passed in like a link instead of simply display?

I looked at response on the method noted here - https://github.com/coveo/search-ui/blob/master/src/rest/SearchEndpoint.ts#L615

Not enough clue though if it is even possible or an overkill

Kind of related to this, but, created different Q&A to keep these disparate, but, I see them getting mashed up.
